Mary and her relationship with Jesus

Mary and her relationship
with Jesus
One of the things
we can learn from Mother Mary is her relationship with Jesus and her
relationship with the people around her. In the scriptures, it is explained to
us how Mary's relationship with Jesus was, especially in the moment of the
feast at Cana. There, we know how the role of Mary is not only brave but also
heroic. He knew that if the master of the banquet were to experience a shortage
of wine, it would certainly bring shame to them; apart from being ashamed, they
would also lose their reputation as the master of the banquet. As a result of
this, of course, their relationships and those of others will be disrupted.
Reflecting on the consequences that would be borne by the owner of the party,
Maria knew that it was not yet time for Jesus to start His work, but because of
her intimate relationship with Jesus, she did not hesitate to ask Jesus for
help in solving the problems that were happening at the time. Her intimate
relationship with Jesus made Mary neither ashamed nor afraid of what she was
doing, she knew who Jesus was for her and who she was for Jesus. All of this
happened because he had an intimate relationship with Jesus. And we can find
Mary's relationship with the people around her in her visit to Saint Elisabeth.
In addition to her relationship with Jesus, she also wants to actualize it by
relating to other people. Because of the happiness she gets from his
relationship with Jesus, she wants to share that happiness by relating to
others. Mary knew that her relationship with Jesus would certainly make her
happy, and she wanted that happiness not only to be experienced by herself but
to be felt by others as well, so she had relationships with other people.
As novice, we can
certainly learn from Mary about her relationship with Jesus. As we know, during
the novice period, we are given a lot of time to have a dialogue or pray to
God. And it is from this prayer that we slowly build our relationship with
Jesus. Good relationships allow us to have the strength in all situations. In
this case, we can see in Mother Mary, both in times of happiness and sorrow,
especially in the story of the Way of the Cross, that she is always strong and
able to survive in situations of suffering, all of this because she knows how
her relationship with Jesus is. His intimate relationship with Jesus made him
endure everything.
A good
relationship is one that doesn't depend on mood, feeling, or something we get
from that relationship, but more than that, a good relationship is one that
doesn't care about it all.
Mary had a good relationship with Jesus because she knew
who he was. We will also have a good relationship if we know who that person
is. That’s way, we will know that person better and deeper. And as we know,
when we have a relationship with Jesus, especially if it's an intimate one, we
will also gain strength and happiness. And we should all be the same as Mother
Mary, who obtained happiness after having a relationship with Jesus, so we are
also invited to share that happiness with those around us.
Therefore, on this
moment, we are all invited to once again learn from Mary how she builds
relationships with Jesus and others.
